Our Purpose

Contract literacy creates informed participants

Real estate collective investment involves legal documents that most participants sign without fully understanding. We provide structured education to change that.

The problem we address

Participants in crowdlending, housing cooperatives, and co-investment groups regularly encounter contracts written by lawyers for lawyers. These documents use specialized terminology, reference legal frameworks unfamiliar to most people, and contain clauses whose implications aren't immediately obvious.

Signing without understanding creates risk. Participants may not recognize when important protections are missing, when obligations exceed what they expected, or when provisions create potential problems down the line.

Individual legal consultation is expensive and often impractical for routine participation in collective investment projects. Group education provides a practical alternative.

Our educational approach

We teach contract literacy through structured group workshops that focus on the specific documents participants actually encounter in collective real estate investment.

Each workshop breaks down common contract types clause by clause. Participants learn what each section means, what to look for, what should concern them, and what protections should be present.

The group format allows participants to bring their own documents and practice applying what they learn. Seeing how the same principles apply across different contracts reinforces understanding.

This is education, not legal consultation. We don't review individual contracts or provide advice on specific situations. We teach participants how to read and understand contracts themselves.

What contract literacy enables

Understanding contracts changes how participants engage with collective investment projects.

Informed Decision Making

Participants who understand their contracts can make informed decisions about whether to proceed with investments, what questions to ask, and what modifications to request.

Risk Recognition

Contract literacy helps participants identify when provisions create unexpected risks, when protections are absent, and when obligations exceed reasonable expectations.

Rights Awareness

Understanding contracts means knowing what rights participants have, what obligations counterparties bear, and what recourse exists when problems arise.

Effective Communication

Contract literacy enables participants to communicate effectively with platforms, cooperatives, co-investors, and when necessary, with legal professionals.

What we are not

Not a Legal Practice

We provide educational workshops, not legal services. We don't review individual contracts, provide legal advice, or represent participants in legal matters. Our purpose is teaching contract literacy, not practicing law.

Not Individual Consultation

Our workshops are group education sessions. While participants can bring their own documents to practice what they learn, we don't provide personalized analysis or recommendations for specific situations.

Not Investment Advice

We teach how to read and understand contracts. We don't evaluate investment opportunities, recommend specific projects, or advise whether particular investments are appropriate for individual circumstances.

Who benefits from contract literacy

1

New Participants

People considering their first collective real estate investment benefit from understanding what contracts they'll encounter and what those documents actually mean before committing funds.

2

Active Investors

Participants already involved in crowdlending, cooperatives, or co-investment groups gain ability to better understand their existing agreements and evaluate new opportunities.

3

Group Organizers

People forming or managing co-investment groups benefit from understanding what provisions should be included in participation agreements and how to structure arrangements fairly.
